Prologue

This was so exciting! I mean, how often do you get to go to a new school for WIZARDS AND WITCHES?! And it was like, the Yale of the Wizard world! How great was this? The only downfall was that his brother Arthur was going to be there... He was going to be there to be better than him and Alfred would be subject to the comments of 'Oh, your brother's so great at magic!' or 'You're never gonna be as good as your brother is!' or other things like that.
He would have to study hard if he wanted to stay here... Oh well, maybe this school would be more fun that the others he had been to! Hopefully! Hey, maybe there would be some hot students that he could seduce with his amazing seducing skills... That of course being falling over more often than he walked or choking on his own spit, or even on the rare chance he's flicking his wand around and throws it at the girl or boy he's trying to impress.
That one always works, classic. He would figure it out when he got there. Right now was the hard part of getting sorted into his house. It was like presenting a project in school, no one wanted to stand up in front of everyone, what if you tripped? Oh well, Alfred was too excited to care.
He was alone up here with the people of his year, his brother had left him alone to fend for himself. He was told this is where he would be making more of his friends and obviously Arthur wouldn't want to be seen with his little brother hanging off his arm like a parasite, that would ruin his image and we wouldn't want that. Bright blue eyes sparkled while the introduction of the sorting hat started and he almost had to put his hand over his mouth to keep his joy in and stay quiet. The names went down the list alphabetically and Alfred would try to memorize names with faces. Hm... He wondered what house he would get, it was sort of obvious he would get Gryffindor, but of course he didn't know that, he thought the Hat was just magically placing people in the right place with no other reason than it was the Hat.
Then his turn came around, the blond bounded up the stairs, excited as he could be. Now, remember what I said about tripping? Well, guess who did the thing? Yup. It was horrible, he could feel himself being embarrassed as he fell.
He regretted everything he did up to the point of putting his foot over his other and then trying to lift it up to get to the stairs. From an outside point of view, Alfred had tripped over his own feet, he looked so confident and cool, but instead he stepped on his own toe and was soon plummeting to greet the hard stairs with his face, probably going to break his nose if he was lucky. With everyone else already silent, Alfred couldn't have played it off as something in the noise and he knew all eyes were on him, so that just made him more and more embarrassed. Using his hands to help cushion his fall, he crawled his way up to the place where he would stand with his nose bleeding as he was given his house. Even the Hat muttered to itself, 'Idiot' as it was placed on his head.

"Gryffindor! Don't put me on his head, I just needed to see that trip." Well, Alfred wasn't bothered in the least about his fall, he knew he could totally do something cool to make up for it because after all, he was the hero!

The boy smiled in triumph.

"Some trip you got there," a girl said to him as he walked down.
"I'm great! Can't wait to see what house you'll be sorted in," he smiled at her.

The girl had (h/l/c) hair and (e/c) eyes. When her name was called she went up nervously, yet confidently. She kept a song playing in her head so she didn't make any mistakes. She sat on the stool and looked around the room as a hundred or more pair of eyes stared at her.
Mean while after being seated at his table with the other older Gryffindors congratulating him. The blonde boy also saw his brother at the Slytherin table in which he directed stuck his tongue at his Brit brother. He watched as the girl from earlier sat in front of everyone. Her eyes worried, yet fixed on everyone.

"Well, if it isn't Elizabeth's daughter," the hat said.
"Yes, that's right," the girl said confidently.
"My, such confidence. You are definitely not a Ravenclaw with your type of knowledge," the hat said.
"Yeah, I can see that," she retorted.
"My, such a bucketful of sass now aren't we? Nothing like your mother," it said looking through the room, "your courage could make you a Gryffindor..."
The (h/c) haired girl frowned.
"No? Why not?"
"Because that wouldn't be me, I ain't a prideful idiot," she said.
"Maybe you should really be a Slytherin for that attitude... even I could see that in the past you have quite a story..."
Hearing this both the girl and the Slytherin table grinned.
"But yet! I can see deep inside you the loyalty to friends," the hat said.
"Oh yeah? Where are you gonna put me in-?"
"Hufflepuff!" the hat announced, interrupting her.

Her (e/c) eyes went wide in shock and a hint of disappointment.
'NO!' she screamed in her head.
Luckily the hat was taken off her head while she sat in shock. Walking slowly to her table she sat far from the other members of the house.
'So much for trying to not being like my family...' she sighed.
